Gas Line Repair / Conroe, Texas
I smell gas, or my gas line needs repair
Gas is the one plumbing problem you shouldn't wait on or work on yourself, and it's normal to feel uneasy about it. Most gas line problems come down to a worn fitting, a damaged section, or a line that didn't pass a pressure test, and a licensed plumber can make it safe.

What could this take?
Best case
You may not need a call.
A brief whiff of gas when a stove burner lights is normal. A smell that stays is not, and it's not a do-it-yourself repair.
What should I do first?
- If the smell is strong or doesn't go away, leave the house right away. Don't switch lights or appliances on or off, and don't light anything.
- From outside, call your gas company's emergency line or 911. Then call us to repair the line once it's safe.
Call us if: You smell gas that lingers, a gas appliance won't light, you hear hissing near a gas line, or a meter was pulled and the line needs a pressure test.
If it needs a repair: One leaking fitting or connector at an appliance. We repair it and test the line.
Typical case
A repair with clear options.
A damaged section of line that needs replacing, plus a pressure test to prove the system is tight.
- Gas line repair
- $499–$1,499
Exception case
It may be a bigger job.
Several problems along the line, or a new gas run. That's bigger work, and we lay it out before anything starts.
If it becomes project work, we'll evaluate the scope and prepare a separate quote. We'll explain that before you decide.

Everyday repairs / Catalog prices
Your options. Our prices.
Gas line repair tiers are about how much of the line is involved, from a single connection to a larger section. A sediment trap at an appliance is a separate add-on when one is missing. Every option ends with testing the line.
Every option is professional work. The difference is the scope: what we repair, how much we address, and what that means for you.

Additional work, only when needed
The plumber confirms which option fits after diagnosis. You approve the work and its price before we start. A project is scoped and quoted separately.
Want to know a little more?
What might be causing it—and what will you check?
Understanding the problem
What might be behind it.
A leaking fitting or connection
Joints and flexible connectors at appliances wear out or loosen over time. That's the most common source of a gas leak.
A damaged or corroded line
A section of gas pipe damaged by corrosion, construction, or ground movement.
A failed pressure test
After a meter is pulled or during work on the house, the line has to hold pressure before gas can be turned back on.
On the visit
What we check.
- Where the leak is, using a leak test at the fittings and appliance connections.
- The condition of the line, the connectors, and the shutoff valves.
- Whether the system holds pressure after the repair.
- Whether the repair needs a permit and inspection.
How do I decide which option is right for me?
Safety first
With gas, the right fix is the one that makes the whole system safe, not the smallest possible repair. We'll tell you if we find anything else.
Doing it once
Replacing a corroded section instead of patching it keeps you from calling us back for the next leak on the same run.
Your next step
Let's get it sorted.
Tell us what's happening. We'll confirm the cause, explain the options, and let you decide.
