Water Heater Repair / Conroe, Texas
I have no hot water, or my water heater is acting up
A cold shower is a rough way to start the day. Water heaters work hard every day for years, and parts wear out. Most problems come down to one part, and a repair gets you hot water again without replacing the whole unit.

What could this take?
Best case
You may not need a call.
Before you call, a couple of checks take two minutes and sometimes bring the hot water right back.
What should I do first?
- On an electric heater, check the breaker panel for a tripped water heater breaker and reset it once.
- Make sure the thermostat dial on the heater hasn't been turned down.
Call us if: The pilot on a gas heater is out, the breaker trips again, you smell gas, water is pooling around the tank, or the relief valve is dripping or discharging. Don't keep resetting a breaker that keeps tripping, and leave the gas and the pilot to us.
If it needs a repair: A single worn part, like a thermocouple or a relief valve. We replace it and you have hot water again.
Typical case
A repair with clear options.
A worn part plus sediment built up in the tank. We fix the part and tell you whether a flush would help the heater last.
- Water Heater Repair
- $179–$349
Exception case
It may be a bigger job.
The tank itself is leaking, or the heater is near the end of its life. A leaking tank can't be repaired. We'll tell you straight whether a repair still makes sense or replacement is the better call.
If it becomes project work, we'll evaluate the scope and prepare a separate quote. We'll explain that before you decide.

Everyday repairs / Catalog prices
Your options. Our prices.
Repairs are priced per part replaced, so you pay for the fix you actually need. If we find the tank leaking or failing, replacement is priced separately, and we'll show you both before you decide.
Every option is professional work. The difference is the scope: what we repair, how much we address, and what that means for you.

The plumber confirms which option fits after diagnosis. You approve the work and its price before we start. A project is scoped and quoted separately.

What might be causing it—and what will you check?
Understanding the problem
What might be behind it.
A pilot or ignition problem (gas)
On a gas heater, a worn thermocouple or an ignition fault keeps the burner from staying lit. It's one of the most common reasons for no hot water.
A tripped breaker or failed element (electric)
On an electric heater, a tripped breaker or a burned-out heating element leaves you with lukewarm or cold water.
A relief valve that drips or opens
The temperature and pressure relief valve is a safety part. If it drips or discharges, it's either worn or doing its job because the pressure is too high. We check which.
A worn anode rod
The anode rod protects the tank from rust. Once it's used up, the water can smell or look rusty, and the tank starts to corrode.
On the visit
What we check.
- Whether it's gas or electric, and whether the burner or elements are firing.
- The thermocouple, gas valve, or elements, and the breaker on electric units.
- The temperature and pressure relief valve, and the house water pressure.
- The tank for leaks and rust, and the heater's age from its label.
How do I decide which option is right for me?
Age of the heater
On a younger heater, a part repair is usually the right call. On one near the end of its life, putting money into repairs can mean paying twice when the tank fails anyway.
Repeat visits
One worn part is normal. Several failing at once is often a sign the heater is wearing out, and that's worth knowing before you repair it.
Downtime
Most part repairs are done in one visit. The heater needs time to heat a full tank again afterward.

My water heater is leaking, failing, or getting old
Water on the garage floor or a heater that just can't keep up is stressful, and it always seems to happen at the worst time. Tank water heaters don't last forever. Minerals in the water wear them down from the inside, and at some point replacing the tank is simply the right move.

What could this take? ↗My water heater is popping, or it's due for a flush
A water heater that pops and rumbles, or one that doesn't seem to heat like it used to, is easy to put off. Most people never think about their water heater until it stops. In hard water, minerals settle in the tank every day, and a flush clears them out before they cause trouble.

What could this take? ↗My tankless water heater stopped working, or I want to go tankless
Tankless heaters are great until one throws an error code and the hot water stops. The fix is often simpler than it looks. And if you're thinking about going tankless, it's a good upgrade in the right house, but not in every house.
